About the product

An exceptional example of Costa Rican anaerobic honey processing at its finest. Remarkably sweet, exceptionally clean, with a round, almost broth-like texture that fills the entire mouth without ever feeling heavy. The mouthfeel is extraordinary. Delicate Gesha florals come through quietly: nectar, white blossoms, iris and white tulips, with a gentle suggestion of peach. There is something of a sweet sake in its sweetness and texture, a subtle umami quality that gives the cup another dimension. Calm, composed and beautifully precise. A different kind of coffee. Just a great deal to discover.

No matter how great the machine you build, the most important question remains: what coffee will you brew with it?

When Japanese coffee machine makers Daito Giken came to that realization, they set off on a journey through Central America in search of exceptional coffee. Their search eventually led them to Costa Rica and Hacienda Copey Los Grandes.

The farm sits high in the Tarrazú mountains, at 2,000 metres above sea level, where climate, soil, ecosystem and farming expertise come together to create a remarkable terroir. Hacienda Copey is particularly renowned for its Gesha harvests, twice earning top honours at the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition.
