Baroida Estate is located in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, in the Kainantu region. The farm was established in the 1960s by Ben Colbran, one of the first to cultivate coffee in these valleys as agricultural development expanded into the highlands. The land was purchased from a local man named Taro, and today the work is carried on by Ben’s son, Nicol.
The estate takes its name from a local legend — the Baroida spirit, believed to reside in a large river stone and to protect the farm from flooding. The plantations sit between 1,700 and 1,850 meters above sea level, in the valleys of the Lamari River, surrounded by both former colonial estates and smallholder gardens. The Colbran family cultivates hanfull of varieties — including Arusha, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Typica — with a clear focus on producing high-quality microlots. In the cup, the profile reflects the character of the region: syrupy and full-bodied, with a deep, structured complexity. Sweet notes of black cherry, cola, licorice, cacao nibs, and white pepper carry through the finish.

Why us?
Coffee comes to us directly from the place of growth.
We travel to her, taste and buy directly from the farmers. That's how we know we're bringing home coffee and not a cat in a bag. And that the money goes to the coffee farmers, not the sellers.
