Origin Story

Young and quietly ambitious, FINCA DEL ALBA sits high in the Sierra de Zongolica mountains of Veracruz, founded by farmer Edzon Meza. The farm itself is only a few years old, but its roots reach much deeper — into the experience and agricultural traditions of the local community that works the land.

Everything here begins with the soil. The land is nourished naturally with on-farm compost and fermented organic fertilizers. Ripe cherries are hand-picked, carefully sorted, and slowly dried on raised beds. Each step of the process is designed to preserve clarity, purity, and the distinctive character of the region’s Arabica.

This lot from Finca del Alba, recognized in a prestigious coffee competition, is Sarchimor — a hybrid combining the Costa Rican Bourbon-derived Villa Sarchi with the resilient Timor variety.

The cup shows excellent structure and balance, with a lively, well-defined acidity framed by deep sweetness throughout. Aromatics lean toward ripe pear and floral nectar, while caramelized sugars bring a round, lingering finish.

CUP OF EXCELLENCE
is the world’s most respected international competition for coffee quality, organised by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence. For producers, participation represents the highest level of global recognition. The competition is built on a rigorous, blind tasting system, with coffees advancing through multiple international judging rounds. The finalists are presented at auction, where winning lots can achieve prices many times higher than standard market levels. Beyond prestige, Cup of Excellence offers something more tangible: real economic opportunity and the beginning of long-term partnerships between producers and buyers.

Why us?

We keep rediscovering the best coffee

Coffee is like wine - different from year to year. Its quality is as constant as the air. The temperature changes, the humidity changes, and so does the coffee. That's why every year we search anew where the coffee was the best.
